![]() This year, our annual awards banquet was postponed until October, and we decided to wait until the ceremony to unveil the winners locally. These accolades are typically handed out in March, and we typically report the results then. We’re late with telling the story of our SCPA awards this year. Our visuals teams are vital to how we tell our communities’ stories, and these awards prove it. Hicks Jr., Tim Kimzey, Josh Morgan, Matt Burkhartt and Ken Ruinard combined for 41 awards. ![]() ![]() We found stories you wouldn’t find elsewhere and kept our communities informed about information they needed to know.Īnd as usual, our visuals teams were strongly represented. Our two largest newsrooms were recognized for their outstanding coverage of COVID-19. Samantha Swann of the Herald-Journal took first place in the category there with her story about how restaurant owners and workers adapted to new COVID rules.
